Welcome to Jazz Funk and Soul.com a website dedicated to the Jazz Funk and Soul scene that emerged in the U.K. from the mid 70's through to the mid 80's. Aswell as being informative, this site aims (through its content) to take its visitors on a journey back to those times to the extent that you can almost feel you have entered a time warp! In addition, participation from visitors is welcomed. The site is designed to be interactive and allows visitors to make a contribution in a variety of ways. I am aware that the Jazz Funk and Soul scene still has a strong following and in fact the Caister Soul weekends are still going strong after 30 years, but I would suggest it could never be like it was in its heyday As we all get older commitments and priorities such as work and family take over our lives and it becomes difficult to be actively involved. However I still love and listen to the music of those times and I am sure like many others occasionally wish I could turn the clock back and return to those fun filled days when all that seemed to matter was music and dancing ( alright..and women!). I have an eighteen year old daughter now who loves Soul and R&B but I know she could never experience the times that us Soulies had back then and I doubt the sight of thousands of funkateers travelling along the motorways to the likes of Knebworth or Caister will ever be seen again. This and the desire to re-live those days inspired me to create this website which I hope you all enjoy. Groove on Steve Gibson
